Scottish Stained Glass provides high quality, unique art pieces that are all custom designs. We take great pride in our detail oriented ability to tailor our designs to individual clients and their taste. No matter what your vision for your new stained glass window may be, we will help your turn it into a reality. We have worked with a wide variety of clients and created countless pieces. Our experience has led us to become very familiar with all design styles, helping us expand our knowledge and better serve our customers. Since we have limitless design opportunities, though, it is best to narrow down your individual style in order to create the perfect design for you. Some of the more prominent design styles we have worked with include traditional, contemporary, Frank Lloyd Wright, Mackintosh, floral, and contemporary.

Traditional stained glass windows can be interpreted in a variety of way. Typically, one pictures traditional stained glass to be bright, vibrant, and full of color. However, traditional stained glass can be created using all clear, leaded glass too. Incorporating a lot of elegant curves and intricate shapes is an important key to developing a traditional style. We can take these elements and manipulate them to create a window that is uniquely your own and reflects your personal style.

Contemporary stained glass is another broad category for design styles. Generally, contemporary designs incorporate art deco and mission style characteristics. They are often linear, simplistic, clean, geometrical, and somewhat abstract. Accents of color in contemporary windows can really help them to come together.

Frank Lloyd Wright was a master architect who was well versed when it came to designing stained glass. His work inspires one of our more popular design styles amongst clients. Detail and linear attributes help to accomplish this particular look. Though sometimes some people may find these designs simplistic in appearance, they can actually prove to be quite intricate and complex on occasion.

Charles Rennie Mackintosh is another architect whose influence is prominent amongst many stained glass artists, including ourselves. Using his motifs, principles, and ability to combine free flowing forms with harsh, straight lines as inspiration, we have designed windows for many clients who wish to incorporate this style into their home.

At Scottish Stained Glass, we often create pieces that are completely fabricated based off of a suggestion a client has made. Often times, these tend to lean towards a floral style. Floral stained glass is a specific type of traditional style. We have created custom stained glass windows that portray irises, morning glories, aspen trees, leaves, grapes, roses, and even birds of paradise. We hand draw these flowers individually, making sure that each one is perfect.
